Our goal is to ensure education, protection and opportunities that will improve their present and future.

There are 2.7 million orphans and 8 million children at risk in Uganda. After living in this country and experiencing this harsh reality first hand, putting a face and name to many of these children, we have committed ourselves to making a difference by building an orphanage to give a second chance to children who have been abandoned, abused or who have lost their parents.

HOW WAS NAFASI UGANDA BORN?
In 2017, I started traveling to Uganda and fell in love with the country, but especially with the children I lived with. Since then, I returned whenever I could and I knew that, once I finished my studies, I would move there permanently. In January 2023, I managed to go live there and during this time one of the inspirations for this project arose: Peace.
I met her in 2018 while volunteering at her school and from that moment on we created a very special relationship. Peace had been abandoned by her parents at that school where years later, after a traumatic incident that resulted in a pregnancy, she was expelled from the center. From then on she lived in very difficult conditions and struggled to survive with her daughter.
A year ago, when I heard about her situation, I knew that they deserved a chance for Peace to continue studying and thus be able to offer her daughter a decent future. I managed to get Peace into a boarding school, although, due to the age difference, she couldn't be in the same boarding school as her daughter, who had to attend another school and they could only see each other during the holidays. Despite the difficulties and after having spent several years without studying (even missing the first term), Peace worked so hard that she not only managed to pass everything, but she did so with a very good average.
This was the first case that inspired me to start this project, a home where these two girls could be reunited. But since then I have met many other children in very difficult circumstances that make me think about how much they deserve a home full of peace, love, education and opportunities, which every child in the world should have.
This story is just a small glimpse into why this project came about. Over the past few years, I have received countless signs that have shown me that this is my life mission. Some of those signs have been so evident that I have no doubt that God is guiding me. From the moment I decided to follow this path and begin to make this idea a reality, my family and friends were completely involved, believing in this project as much as I did, allowing me to create this new family called Nafasi Uganda.
